Smoothing a Render CoatThis shows a broom being used to smooth an external render coat. The broom is used as the final step in the rendering process after the surface is smoothed with a sponge application.dozer

Kitchen CounterThe start of the kitchen counter. The counter supports are done using red brick and cement. Note the area to the left of the worker is plumbed for the kitchen sink.dozer

Kitchen CounterThe surface of the counter is applied with freshly mixed concrete (portland cement with addition of sand and small stone aggregate). The hole to the left is where the stainless steel sink will sit and the tube extruding from the counter is for the faucet.dozer

Decorative Glass BlocksThis shows the wood spacers used to maintain spacing with the decorative glass blocks, these are the vertical ones in the front of the house. The inside of the gap is reinforced (with rebar) concrete.dozer

Applying a PrimerA good quality primer paint is used, TOA type for fresh concrete finishes (they have two types of primers, one for fresh concrete, the other for existing).dozer

Archway SupportThe start of the archway support structure. There will be concrete poured in forms above the archway which is supported by a rebar framework welded to the roofing metal.dozer

Applying the Render Coat to the CounterThe render coat is applied to the counter, with exact sizes being maintained for the cabinet door openings. Great care is applied to make sure the corners are properly squared (a sign of a good workman).dozer

Primer Second CoatThe second coat of TOA outside primer is applied. This is one area where it doesn't pay to corner cut, although you can get by with a single coat of an inferior primer the paint job won't hold up as it will with premo paints.dozer

Ceiling FrameworkThe ceiling framework which will allow the drywall sheeting to be applied beneath. The aluminum composite material is supported by hanging strips affixed to the roofing substructure. dozer
