StairsThe original stairs were the standard concrete type with a small storage area underneath. I had the concrete stairs "blasted-out" and installed a steel beam with steel supports for the 4cm thick teak steps. With the house orientated to take advantage of the North-East / South-West monsoon winds, there is a Venturi effect in this part of the house with the wind blowing through it.
Who needs air-con...? Plan to install a skylight overtop of the stairwell.verticalift

TerraceWe've turned this area into an upstairs outdoor terrace, overtop of the garage. Originally it was just a flat top roof (Waisted Space) of the garage/car park below. I had the roof/floor tiled and a sloping roof instaled overtop. The underside of the C-Pac roof tiles were to have been covered in 10 mm teak T & G, however with teak prices having skyrocketed over the past 7 years I had the underside of the C-Pac roof tiles painted a teak color and the steel support beams, painted dark oak. Downstairs BathroomIndoor/Outdoor bathroom. I first saw this stainless steel rain shower spiral, in a magazine in Abu Dhabi where they were asking $2000USD. I tore the page out of the magazine and took it back to the local marina in Phuket where I kept my boat. I had the guys in the stainless steel shop fabricate it for me. My cost: 2,000 Baht. The 500 Baht shower curtain hangs on the stainless steel pipe.
Stairs are solid teak with 25 coats of "Deks Olje" (Aquired at the local marina)verticalift
