Rolling out the damp courseBeing a Brit, Jazzman knows all about damp courses! 100 baht per roll from the local village hardware store. 3 rolls to cover the floor. Jazzman laid 2 cm of sand over it to prevent it being damaged by the concrete. The strips were overlaped and stuck with wide tape to prevent capillary action. The deep foundations for the columns were also lined with PVC sheet. Click an thumbnail to see an enlargement then click the clapperboard to start a slide show.jazzman (8 votes)

The Pool - 1The 12 m x 4.5 m x 1.6 m infinity edge pool. We built it at 1.6 m deep all over as I did not want the complications of a shallow end / deep end with the single pour of 49m3 of concrete. We then built steps in each corner which has turned out to be great - in and out and also a good spot to sit on a hot day. teevee (2 votes)

Example of Thai brick work. Bricks tied to columns by means of drilling into concrete and inserting steel rods. Note the horizontal 'beam' on the other side of the scaffolding, this is re-infirced and adds strength.Thaifu T (2 votes)
