Cement bathtub in outdoor courtyard/bathroom.35 viewsI had this 1/2 ton cement bathtub constructed offsite at a factory in Phuket. Because the istallation of the tub is in an outdoor courtyard, we could'nt use a standard prefabricated air-jet fiberglass tub. The sun's U.V. rays would have eaten-up a fiberglass tub inside 6 months.
Have a look at the other folders for how we built it and had it installed.

Video Showing Granito Tile Laying35 viewsThis is a 7 minute video showing the process for laying granito tiles. It is a bit funky in that the tiler goes really slow because of the camera, but it demonstrates in general how it should be done. The main thing to note is that it is a two step process using dry mix concrete as a base. dozer

Spacers35 viewsThe spacers used are just box wrap that is about .75 mm in width. We've switched to using these instead of the plastic spacers as it is about the right grout line with most tiles.dozer

Close Up35 viewsA close up showing how the adhesive stays mostly on the bottom of the tiles and doesn't fill the grout line. dozer

Kitchen Glass Tiles35 viewsThe glass tiles will go under the upper cabinets. It is easier if the layout calls for the distance under the cabinets to correspond to the height of the tile sheets so no cutting is needed.dozer

Patio Tiling35 viewsFirst the tiler prepares the surface. There will be a slight downward slope to the outside so that any water will drain off. dozer

Formwork for Sink and Stove35 viewsThe areas formed off are for the stove top and sink as they will not be poured. dozer

Edged Corners35 viewsThe corners of the cabinet and table top are edged and squared. dozer

Locking Hardware35 viewsThe locking hardware is installed on the floor in the middle of the door. These holed pieces lift up and fit through the bottom of the door panel, allowing a padlock to be used. There is also bar based locking system that operates with a key. dozer
