Visual Roof InspectionAs long as there is none of the foil insulation which adheres to, and is installed at the same time the cement tiles are installed, the roof can be inspected visually during rain storms for leaks. If the foil has been applied any roof leaks will be much harder to find and repair. dozerSep 27, 2011

Protective Plastic Bird GuardThere will be two sheets of the facia board upon which the lip of the tile rests. A protective screen which is designed to sit right under the tile, is placed between the two pieces of facia to eliminate any problems with entry from birds or other pests. dozerSep 27, 2011

Hip Roof Structure showing TrussAnother shot of the hip roof structure from outside. There are 1 x 1" pieces of metal at 31 cm. apart on the top to carry the tiles. The M truss is visible on the inside. The truss will not be supported within the structure.dozerSep 27, 2011

Primed and Painted Roof MetalEach piece of roof metal is painted first with a primer coat and then sealed for maximum rust protection. This is a precaution which should be taken since the integrity of the metal is important in regards to the strength of the roof structure.dozerSep 27, 2011

Example Roof TrussA roof truss from a different project. We will be using a modification of this with a 'm' truss design. The shot is notable, because normally a 'truss' system is not used here. With foundation columns and internal walls, the roof structure is normally dependent on being able to be supported within the house boundaries, ie not a truss.
