Rolling out the damp courseBeing a Brit, Jazzman knows all about damp courses! 100 baht per roll from the local village hardware store. 3 rolls to cover the floor. Jazzman laid 2 cm of sand over it to prevent it being damaged by the concrete. The strips were overlaped and stuck with wide tape to prevent capillary action. The deep foundations for the columns were also lined with PVC sheet. Click an thumbnail to see an enlargement then click the clapperboard to start a slide show.jazzmanMar 04, 2007

My first view on arriving from the UK. Concrete base laid; steel work for columns started; metal shuttering delivered. Note the 'good luck' artefacts hanging from the columns following the usual 'blessing' by the monksThaifu TMar 04, 2007

'Hotel California' Some of the workers lived here during the whole construction phase. Actually this helps with site security at night. Later the 'hotel' was doubled in size to accommodate more workers.Thaifu TMar 04, 2007
