9 March 2009Some final welding today on the roof steel. All the major steel work is finished and now with it checked out the boss welder told these guys to make the final welds on all the main supports. Up to this point all the welds were just temporary I guess so today they laid on the heavy bead.pklongballMar 09, 2009

9 March 2009This is the beginning of the wall work. Nothing dramatic yet but needs to be done. Two ladies were assigned the job of moving the 2,000 odd blocks onto the floor area in selected places to make them ready for the wall team to start installing them.pklongballMar 09, 2009

Day 26 RoofThe roof is almost finished with just a few small snags to tidy up. Remember that there are no drawings for this project and it's a question of make-it-up-as-you-go. It's also a training excercise for my workers. We still have a lot to do on the land including a frontage wall with gate and motel gatehouse at one end, and another gate with archway at the other end of the land, a large sala as a dining-room restaurant, a floating sala on the pond, and a meeting room/classroom on the field behind.jazzmanMar 09, 2009

Day 27 Gable ends. While the roof was going on, all the wiring, switches and sockets have been installed. I am only counting the days actually worked. The foreman has bought a new car (I'm obviously paying him too much) so with that and a wedding in our family no work was done for over a week.
The soffit and the Conwood are leftovers from building the house. Tomorrow the ceiling team is coming to do the plasterboard ceilings (sheetrock) that will have circular recesses for the ceiling fans.jazzmanMar 09, 2009
