Archway Completed Section on the RightThe finished archway prior to rendering: notice the lower portion is poured within formwork and the upper portion is brick and mortar. Door FrameA vertical beam will be poured on either side of the door frame. The nail seen extruding from the frame is used as an anchor. It will become embedded in the poured vertical beam and lock the frame in place. dozerSep 27, 2011

Bedroom WallsThe internal bedroom walls were constructed of red brick. Notice the horizontal ring beam (extended door lintel) which spans the entire wall. Column Form WorkThe form wood utilized is two sizes, 10 inch and 8 inch to create a column size approximated 8 inches square (which is 20 centimeters). You often see them nowadays going with 15 centimeter columns with minimized rebar (on other projects) which just doesn't have the durability, leads to structural cracking and worse.dozerSep 27, 2011
