26 March 2009Here we have the start of installing the wireway. We are using 2 x 4 by 2 meter sections. These are connected to each other as needed to form the raceway for all the power cabling. Various hand and electric tools are used in the process of assembling the sections.pklongball

26 March 2009This shot is Sparkie's right hand man installing a section of the wireway metal chase we decided to use instead of the standard conduit and boxes. This chase will join all areas of the ceiling area together to allow cables to be pulled to any conduit stubs from the main load center as well as travel to other points.pklongball

26 March 2009A shot here of the now installed raceway but before the conduit is connected to the bottom of the channel with bushings.pklongball

26 March 2009In this shot I am pointing some added arrows to the now installed wireway. Sparky is doing a fine job to this point in how he is going about the install of my wiring.pklongball

26 March 2009And again some arrows point to another section of raceway and the method to hang it. Some holes are drilled into the steel of the roof and they secure it with big "pop" rivets. This will make his cabling job a breezepklongball

26 March 2009And here we have a section that is ready for the cables. 4 conduits were bent using a heat gun,,,yes I said heat gun not lighter or some sort of fire on a stick, then attached to holes cut into the bottom of the channel. And the use of the connector and bushings is another requirementpklongball

28 March 2009This is Sparky using his heat gun to heat and bend the pipe to connect to the raceway. He keeps a bottle of water handy to cool the pipe so it holds its shape after bendingpklongball

28 March 2009This view of the panel shows how Sparky ran the conduits down the wall and under the floor.pklongball

|

28 March 2009Today the main panel is installed and all the conduits are in place both up to the raceway for the feeder cables and down under the floor for the main supply cables and the feeders to and from the car park panel. We have added a small box next to the panel that will have the RG 6U cables (TV & True) and telephone cables in and out.pklongball

28 March 2009More conduit runs to the raceway. These two will be in a wall but the wall is not finished yet.pklongball
