Poured WalkwayThe view after the walkway pour prior to the final smoothing of the concrete. This is hand mix concrete, you can tell it is about the right consistency since there is a minimum of water near the surface, and will become further evident during the final smoothing process. dozer

Wall Ground BeamThere are footings at approximately 2.5 meter intervals below this beam that is being poured. Notice the column frames extending from the beam.dozer

Wall ColumnsAs always, the columns for the perimeter wall are poured after the blocks are laid. This ties the blocks into the column and is much more durable.dozer

Driveway PourIn preparation for the driveway pour the surface is leveled for the correct sloping angle and then the frame mesh is put in place at intervals of 20 centimeters. The red bricks are used as spacers. The pour will be 10 centimeters in depth. dozer

Front Brick ColumnsThe front brick columns sit on either side of the drive way. The columns contain the electric conduit which is run up to the top to support the exterior wall lighting. The inside of the columns is filled with concrete.dozer

Driveway Pour in ProcessHand mix was used on the driveway. Red bricks are used as a starting spacer to ensure that the rebar mesh doesn't sit on the ground, further adjustment is done by the 'pull into place method' as the pour progresses. The meshing is pulled to be centered within the 10 centimeter pour.dozer

Initial Render CoatAn initial render coat will be applied and left rough. This then is allowed to dry over a period of time, prior to applying the colored render coat.dozer

Drainage OpeningsThe larger 3 inch PVC piping is used to set in periodic drainage openings within the front exterior wall. The larger diameter is more practical as the holes will tend not to jamb as often and are easier to maintain. dozer

Die PigmentThe premixed natural die pigment is added to the concrete render mixture. The amount of sand aggregate and cement must not vary to ensure consistency in the resultant coloration. dozer
