Granito TilesThese are the heavy granito tiles, each weighing appx 7.5 kg each. They are laid much like granite or marble because of their weight. Many 'tilers' don't know how to do a proper job with granito and I have seen it done wrong many times.dozer

Two StepThe granito tiles are first laid and leveled in dry pack and then weber adhesive is applied to the back of the tile.dozer

SpacersThe spacers used are just box wrap that is about .75 mm in width. We've switched to using these instead of the plastic spacers as it is about the right grout line with most tiles.dozer

DrymixAnother shot of the tiles partially installed. Notice the guide line and dry mix concrete.dozer

Cardboard SheetingCardboard rolls are used to protect the drying tiled surface prior to it being grouted. The cardboard rolls is widely available and is widely used in high end commercial projects.dozer

Close UpA close up showing how the adhesive stays mostly on the bottom of the tiles and doesn't fill the grout line. dozer

Kitchen TilesThe smaller kitchen tiles being laid. Although it would be easy enough to get away with a wet mix one pass application, the tiler here also uses the dry mix two step process. Here the weber adhesive cement is being applied.dozer

Tile PlacementFitting a tile into place on the dry mix with the weber adhesive already applied. dozer

Kitchen Glass TilesThe glass tiles will go under the upper cabinets. It is easier if the layout calls for the distance under the cabinets to correspond to the height of the tile sheets so no cutting is needed.dozer
Patio TilingFirst the tiler prepares the surface. There will be a slight downward slope to the outside so that any water will drain off. dozer

Smoothing the SurfaceThe straight edge tool is used to apply the proper slope to the surface.dozer
