Phala - "Drilling a Well"

P1302836.JPG

In this album I will show the basic steps for getting a well drilled. We waited to do this until 6 months after living in the house and a recognized need for a reliable and plentiful water supply for the new landscape and garden. We looked at both the ring wells and the bore hole. Decided the bore was more reliable for us. Our cost was 70k baht with a guarantee of good, plentiful water. Price included boring, pump and motor control and all pvc required plus labor. Extra 1800 baht for the pressure switch. If the pump fails or the water supply fails in the first year they will return and make deeper. Depth of our bore is 43 meters. I have run the pump for 3 hours with no shortage of water. I do think our water has a high iron content though and slight salty taste. We will not pipe this water to the house.
Edit July 2017 the original Franklin pump is still working well now. Well has never gone dry Knock wood!

Phala - "Carport"

001Carport_28Custom29.JPG

I am adding this photo album now 4 years since we moved in to the house. The construction of the carport is finally commencing. We went through a few false starts with plans and builders but finally we settled on a plan and builder. The carport will be an open 4 column structure 7 meters square with a CPAC Monier tile roof. A small toilet room will be planned in but not constructed for a year or so. So enjoy the pictorial and any questions just ask in the forum

5 MayThe septic tank is now half buried and the newly dug trench from the street comes to the drain box. I need to get them to be sure that no water from any drain line in the house can drain to the back of the land so some sort of blocking will have to be placed in the pipe thats heads and slopes to the back.pklongball

26 March 2009Here we have the start of installing the wireway. We are using 2 x 4 by 2 meter sections. These are connected to each other as needed to form the raceway for all the power cabling. Various hand and electric tools are used in the process of assembling the sections.pklongball
