Consider this a risk of using the CTH open forum.
Occasionally on almost all open forums there are flame wars. Instead of just posting one's personal opinion related to the matter at hand a poster intentionally or inadvertently which is viewed as a personal attack by the other poster. This causes the receiving poster in many cases to counter attack and it escalates from there.
If one feels he has been 'libeled' on the site he/she should contact the site moderator. This is true on all forums across the internet. The moderator MAY at that point edit out or remove the supposed offending material.
RISK: During the time period between the initial post and the moderation other members may have read the material. THIS IS YOUR RISK AS A COOLTHAIHOUSE USER, YOU MUST ACCEPT THIS RISK TO CONTINUE POSTING ON THIS SITE. In other words CTH only takes responsibility to remove/edit material (at the moderators discretion) which it finds is a personal flame/libelous, it is assumed that all users prior to posting realize that something may be said which is later unacceptable to them and in the interim it will be read by other users. There is also the risk that something may be posted which you don't like but is not deemed as libelous. THIS WILL NOT BE REMOVED or EDITED.
Some users may occasionally worry about what members have read in the past prior to moderation. For example... there are two members A and B. User A posts something at 10AM on Thursday that is a personal attack on User B or is otherwise objectionable. User B then notifies the moderator and the moderator removes the offending material Friday at 4PM. User B then claims he has been damaged in the interim period of time and wants to hold the site/moderator responsible. If you are User B then from now going forward you hereby consent and understand that after moderation the matter is considered final and no further actions on the subject will be taken.
IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THIS PLEASE NOTIFY THE ADMINISTRATORS of this site and your membership will be removed.
This will be incorporated into the Terms and Conditions soon.
