Click in the box on the right of unwanted messages to get a tick. Then scroll to the bottom where you see 'mark/unmark as important' ... click on the drop-down arrow to see 'delete marked' and click on that. Then click 'go' and marked messages will be deleted. You will then need to log out and log back in to activate. You might need to do the same with 'sent' messages if that is also full.
