Here is another idea for a water tower This one is built on a bathroom, but you could also do a storage room underneath. The tower sets on top at a height of about 5 meters. The tank has about a 2000 liter capacity. (11-May-04)dozer (0 votes)

This is a large tower which services several small apartments and is more than what would be needed for a residential house, but it gives you an idea. The base of this one is 2.70 meters square. The height is about 5 meters and water capacity of about 2000 liters. (27-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)

Here is a similar version about 2 years old. They tend to age rather quickly due to water seepage and generally look kind of ugly. (21-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)

I like stainless steel tanks which come in various sizes and shapes. For a single family house I would recommend storage size of 1000 or more liters. The cheaper plastic type (which you can see in the lower right of this picture) are not recommended. They supposedly are harder to clean and have problems with algae growth. I recently priced an 1600 liter stainless steel tank for 8500 Baht including delivery. (21-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)

Regular Surface Dug Well: The basic materials for a hand dug well is a prefabricated concrete circular drainage ring drainage ringlike the one shown at the left. The drainage assembly comes in 3 basic diameters, 1 meter, 1.2 meter and 1.5 meters. Each piece has a depth of about 30 cm., so there are about 3 per meter. The smaller diameter is normally sufficient for a single house. (19-Apr-04) dozer (0 votes)

Communal Wells: This is an example of a communal well. Everyone in the immediate area is serviced by this well and water tower. As of the time of this picture, there was basically no water service 23 hours a day each and every day. Most everyone was trying to sell their house or townhouse in the area, makes you wonder if it is possible to sell a house with no water? (19-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)

Sometimes once water is hit some circular drainage fittings will be inserted prior to pumping out water, as in this picture. Although it doesn't look like it in this picture, the well digger is about 7 meters below ground level here! (09-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)

Once the wells starts getting deep the digger will descent using a rope. (09-Apr-04)dozer (0 votes)
