A small consumer unit with a timer 1This consumer unit was assembled by Jazzman for the swimming pool equipment. Plasctic housing. View with the cover removed. L to R: 2-pole master; 3, 16A MCBs, Timer (for the pumps).
When originally purchased (900 baht) it contained the 2-pole master and 4 of the MCBs.jazzman

It's the kind of sub consumer unit to use for a garage, small workshop, utility room, large toolshed or garden electrics for the lighting and fountain effects, perimeter wall lighting, speaker phne, CCTV and remote gate opener etc.etc.jazzman

Timer module - side view.If operating higher amperage circuits than 16A, it is usual to use one of these coupled with a relay . The relays come in the same standard rack module. Timer cost: about 2,000 baht. Digital versions available.jazzman

MCB: 2-pole master SwitchA modular automatic Minature Circuit Breaker of the 2-pole (Live and Neutral) type. All Consumer Unit 'fuse boxes' start with one of these which feeds the MCBs for the other circuits. Notice the amperage of this one.jazzman

Minature Circuit BreakerSide and front view of a modular MCB. This one is for 16A. These MCBs are standard equipment in many countries now. They replace fuses. They never need changing. If they trip out, just reset the switch - after troubleshooting the reason of course!jazzman

bTicino 1-hole escutcheonThe base plates all have three holes. This is a single hole escutcheon with a rocker switch with LED. We tried several methods of showing the workers how to paint stuff in the house without getting paint everywhere. We tried masking tape on the window and door frames, we tried removing these escutcheons but the men put them back on. During the night Jazzman removed them, covered them with 'Gladwrap' cling foil and put them back on. We'll see what happens...jazzman

bTicino 3 module unitThis is the bTicino 3 module unit (without its escutcheon). Notice how it is not important in Thailand to have things nice and level. The modules in this unit are (from L to R) minature dimmer 480 baht each. Empty hole because this unit will receive a 2-hole escutcheon. 2-pin + earth version of the many different kinds of sockets used in Thailand, cost 42 baht
The unit with its escutcheon costs 17 baht and includes the screws.jazzman
