Wire Thickness Recommendations28 viewsThis is a good general guide to the recommended thickness of the VFF electrical wire based on distance. The larger the better. Installers normally recommend a wire that is too thin such as .5 where a 1.5 VFF is more appropriate. dozer

There is a internet switch to run the LAN so that we can see the camera output on any computer throughout the house (or outside on the internet for that matter). dozer

Camera Transformers28 viewsThe camera transformers that came with the CCTV cameras were very unreliable. Eventually we got rid of all of the transformers and went with a more logical 'switching' design (were there is a central power center which accepts 220 V and outputs several channels of 12 DC. dozer

Wiring a Camera28 viewsAs the electrician had to run the RJ6 and power wires anyway it ended up making the most sense for him to simply install the cameras. The electrician worked a lot neater (and cheaper) than the CCTV camera installers. dozer
