Day 15 rendered walls - rear view456 viewsOur solution for the bathroom windows can clearly be seen: two glass blocks at flanked on either side by a ventilated brick. The glass blocks were left over from the construction of the house, but they can be bought from 38 baht. The vented bricks cost 5.50 baht each.
There are no zoning regulations here. To maximise on our land, the rear wall is 1 metre from the land boundary.jazzman

Doors452 viewsQuite heavy and sturdy, these exterior doors are made of strong, hot pressed fibre-board to give the panel shapes. 550 baht each from HomePro. Cheap and easy to replace if they get kicked in - worth thinking about if you are building a motel or bungalows. The wooden frames (not shown) were bought at GlobalHouse, 590 baht each, made of Mai Deng.jazzman

Garden?451 viewsAmericans say 'yard', we Poms say 'garden' - even if it looks like this.
I agree it's looking a bit of a mess at the moment, but when everything is finished I hope we'll have a beautiful garden like ThaiFly's.jazzman

Day 1. Setting up434 viewsThe first day was spent setting up the shed, the site electrics and lighting, organising the tools, the cement mixer, and the portable scaffolding, clearing the plot and marking out with pegs and orange string. We bought the cement mixer a couple of years ago second-hand for 5,000 baht. In it, we use the spare 3 Kw motor from the rice-mill. It's reasonably transportable on the back of a pick-up.jazzman

Interlocking Ridge Tiles425 views- and they go together something like this. One has a small radius, and the overlapping one has a larger radius. It's quicker, easier, and cheaper than using capping tiles, although capping tiles would look nicer on a proper house.jazzman
