Wood Trim for Ceiling FinishThese teak wood trim pieces have a 90 % fitting to allow them to be easily applied to a corner, as in this application. They are lacquered with several coats prior to being affixed in place. At the joints a matching 45 % cut is made so they but up to each other with no joint being apparent. dozerSep 27, 2011

Air Powered Nail GunEvery wood worker will have an air powered nail gun. They shoot small nails into the wood and affix to the sheetrock gypsum board. It is a pretty effective way of attaching trim wood that is used universally in Thailand.dozerSep 27, 2011

Metal GateThe gate metal work being done offsite. Even with a simple gate design, which I highly recommend as the normal elaborate Thai style gates I find ugly, some parts cannot be done by normal site workers, such as the circle rounds, as a machine is used to bend the metal. Normally outsourcing metal work is worth it since the finishing will be more detailed.dozerSep 27, 2011

Skirting BoardThe skirting board is brand shera (same as the soffit material). It is affixed by drilling holes in the concrete wall and inserting a plastic grommet. Then a hole is drilled in the skirting board which then is drilled into place. The screws are countersunk so they are level with the surface. Then a white plaster is applied (as seen) to make the screw head undetectable. dozerSep 27, 2011

Soffit CaulkingThe soffit underside is caulked to fill in any irregular gaps. Notice the use of plastic before the soffit painting begins. For some reason Thai workers don't like to use any kind of masking material as a preventative, it takes continued perseverance to get it to happen.dozerSep 27, 2011
