The frame work for the roof structure is box section 4 inch x 2 inch heavy 3.2 mm thick metal sections. There are columns at even intervals so a more extensive truss system is unnecessary (as opposed to Chok Dee #1).dozerSep 27, 2011

Raw WeldA raw (prior to rust painting) weld. The 3.2 mm thick electrode rods are used (as opposed to the 2.6 mm variety) for a heavy duty weld. All welds should be inspected when ever possible. dozerSep 27, 2011

Galvanized Sheeting for Roof ValleyMost of the problems with CPAC concrete roof tiles come from inadequate valley material or poorly done ridges. It is easy to get the wrong stuff, just go to any supply store and ask for the valley material that everyone uses. This is the 1 meter wide material, formed in the center for water run-off, roofs with this as valley material (properly installed) don't have problems. dozerSep 27, 2011

Ridges Laid in PlaceThe ridge tiles are laid in place over a waterproofed (via Sika) concrete mix. Note that the exposed concrete will still need to be treated with a exterior coat of waterproofing agent. The other method is dry tech, which is not used here. dozerSep 27, 2011

CPAC Compressive Strength CertificationA portion of the certification that the samples were tested and the corresponding results. The status field indicates 'p'ass or 'f'ail and the stress column indicates the amount of stress the samples withstood. In this case the 280 ksc samples withstood a minimum of 340 ksc prior to failure. dozerSep 27, 2011

External RenderThe aerated blocks again use a specific product for the external render. It is a ready mix cement skim coat type product. It is easy to work and makes for a smooth and nice render finish. The final thickness of the walls will be 12.5 centimeters so this is being applied about 2.5 centimeters on each side. dozerSep 27, 2011
