Electric BoxesWhen we returned to the site, we found that they had installed the boxes for the plugs about 140cm off the ground. One of those things that makes you scratch your head and say "what were they thinking?". We had them move these down to about 40-50cm in the living room.DrDaveApr 28, 2009

Resized Kitchen WindowOnce we returned to the site, I noticed that they made the window rough openings lower than I had expected. No problem, except in the kitchen, where there would be a counter and sink under a window. In order to allow enough room for a backsplash over the counter, we decided to make this one window a little smaller by adding 3 rows of brick, and doing the rendering again.DrDaveApr 28, 2009

Breaker Box (Consumer Panel)First they put it in the front bedroom. Then my wife told them to move it to the kitchen rear wall, above the washing machine, where it would be in a "utility area" out of sight. Where they actually put it was in the kitchen entryway, in plain sight when sitting in the living room. Really ugly. D'oh!DrDaveApr 28, 2009

Rear ViewRear of the house. The door leads into the kitchen. There's a 1.5 meter patio outside the kitchen, and eventually, we'll install a 1,000L water tank and pump between the door and the bedroom window to the right.DrDaveApr 28, 2009

SuperstructureView of the entire house, from the front. At the front is the covered porch - 2 meters deep by 8 meters wide. You can't see it in this picture, but there's a separate roof over this area, dropped down and recessed into the main roof by about 50cm.DrDaveApr 28, 2009
