28 AprilThe labor crew hand dug this trench around the property perimeter from the septic tank. A series of pipe and boxes will be installed to drain the run out from the septic tank as well as the grey water from the showers and sinks and any water from rain on the land. Ends in the street sewer drainage system.pklongballMay 02, 2009

Gypsum CeilingI don't know how they were able to keep out of each others way, but the gypsum ceiling guys and the tile guys were working at the same time. Here, the steel supports in the living room are going up. We used foil-backed gypsum, and it took about 3 working days to complete all the ceiling work.DrDaveApr 28, 2009

Day #42 - TileStarting to lay the tile. They began by laying a few rows straight from the rear to the front of the house. This view is from the kitchen, looking into the living room at the front of the house.DrDaveApr 28, 2009

Bedroom TileTile in the front bedroom almost finished.
First, they laid the "field" of the room (all of the tiles in the center that didn't need to be cut). Then, the next day, they could walk on these tiles to cut and lay all of the perimeter tiles.
Since this picture was taken, a 4" baseboard (skirting) has been installed in all rooms.

Kitchen CounterWe weren't able to find reasonably priced wood doors for the thai-style counters, so we opted for these plastic ones. (In Phuket, we could have bought nice looking wood doors for the same price of these plastic ones). A stainless steel sink goes under the window, and the top, sides and front of the benches will be covered by 20x20cm stone-look tile. DrDaveApr 28, 2009
