I have purchased land in the past year using a company, but the Thai shareholders are not maids, drivers, gardeners, etc. but legitimate professionals. To my knowledge they were not contacted and I had no problems. Expert legal advise was obtained in advance.

I'm currently dealing with one who has a notorious reputation of interpreting the Thailand Building Code to his advantage to justify a large payment. I received an email from a fellow who is about 75% finished his villa on the same hillside. He paid 500,000. Still outrageous and indeed a scam.

I will be building on a hillside. The Thailand Building Regulations state the maximum height cannot exceed 8m. Can anyone tell me how this is measured?
