Re: How long does it take you to do a really good BPO?
Try as I can, I can't find any relevance to anything that is discussed on CTH. Looks like someone wasted their time posting this.

Re: Land (215 wa) with small house for sale in Khon Kaen
No self respecting expat would be interested in the house. It would be best pulled down. That said, this post is clearly spam for a real estate agency. <That was considered at the time the post was made - the decision was that while the video is from a real estate agent the property was bought by a ...

Re: Building permission rights
It actually depends where your land is located. if it's not Chanote land, then it's probably arable and in a remote village. Many rural areas do not require building permission. I didn't, and it's not so remote. I live almost opposite the OrBorDor office.

Re: Leasing Land and Work Permit.
I think what he is saying is probably on the lines that the official land value index is much lower than the actual prices demanded by the vendors. In my experience therefore, it's a mistake to tell the land office exactly how much was paid for the land. For exapmle, land prices on the Western Udon ...

Re: Persue builder with laywer or not ?
Are there any honest lawyers? I remember a case not so long ago where a struck-off farang lawyer was doing 75 baht usufructs here in Isan and charging his clients Baht 22,000 for a 1-hour thing at the local land office. After I went and spoke to him waving a fax of a certain piece of paper I had sen...

Re: Persue builder with laywer or not ?
The builder to date, has received 1.6 million baht in staged payments, but has completed only 1.2 million baht worth of work. He now tells me his company has negative equity and he needs another 100k to continue the build. The contractual price is 2.3 million baht complete. Is it worth paying a law...

Gym equipment, Udon Thani
Gym closure in Udon Thani. Farang owned. Opened in 2007, for personal reasons the gym project never got off the ground and all the professional training machines, weights, and accessories, virtually still new and practically unused are up for quick sale. Over 100 machines of different kinds, sell to...

Re: Tapatalk
Do I need it? I don't exactly see what it's supposed to do. The Tapatalk website doesn't seem to actually explain what it really does. I've been using an iPad intensively for over 3 weeks now when I'm out of the office, and I have no problems whatsoever reading and contributing to forums.

Perhaps you would like to read some of the earlier , highly informative, posts in this forum from a couple of years ago. The answers are all there and some of us went to a lot of trouble to write them. You just need to go through the index.

Re: Transferring money from the UK to Thailand
The nationwide plan seems reasonable. Go into any Bank and check out the fee for doing a SWIFT transfer. I regularly receive SWIFT payments up to around ฿300,000 from various countries in Europe and it seems to be the people's main choice. My Thai bank charges around 1% up to a maximum of ฿500 for b...

Re: Trouble : House under renovation without permit
There re no guidelines for things unofficial. Gut feeling I suppose. It usually works for me, and I have to do it all the time, and I'm quite satisfied the cost and the result.

Re: Trouble : House under renovation without permit
Totally disagree ... based on my local and personal experience; it's all about how you approach people; even 'government' people in my experience. It depends on one's own personal experience. I certainly approach people in the best manner and with the best possible intentions of obtaining the best ...

Re: Trouble : House under renovation without permit
Some Or Bor Dor offices require a copy of the architect's ID card. Most (in my experience) will not accept drawings from non-registered architects, or non-Thai architects, and other architects who have to provide a signature for them will ask for a lot of money. In many cases, an Or Bor Dor may acce...

Re: Getting full control of land through USUFRUCT
Just to add some personal experience: my usufruct cost a fee of ฿75.00. My lawyer gave me (free of charge) a usufruct contract between me and the landowner in case it was asked for by the land office clerk. It was not required because the land owner and I went together to the land office. Note: Some...
