Hi KBvegas. Thanks for posting the pics. How long ago did you build the house or did you buy one already there. How has it worked out. Sorry don't know about the fish/metal worker. Welcome to the forum.

Jazzman also has a huge pond on his land near Udon and is wondering what the heck to do with it. We thought of filling it in, but at 200,000 baht for the dirt it was of course completely out of the question.
Breeding fish also came under discussion but then the next question was what to do with the fish? A few fingerlings thrown into a pond like this will soon produce literally TONS of fish. Every market place seems to be already saturated with fish sellers.

Gates and wrought iron, like many things in Thailand, is a cottage industry. There is a guy in every village who does this. When you want to know the price just don't go yourself. Send your wife and warn her not to mention that she has a farang husband :)

Hi KBvegas,

My TG lives down in Ban Chan of Muittraphap Road, about 1 km past the traffic lights with the Bridgestone Tire place and I recently had a metalwork shop down the road from her, make a gate for her house. If you are interested and it that area, I will get the street address and location of his workshop.

The style, was a single sliding gate, 4 m long by about 1500-1600mm high, arched in the middle (probably not the style you want) but he does all shapes and sizes.

The cost, fitted on site with a track and guide post, painted and a little bit of a fancy arched shape inthe middle was TB 15,000

Regards
