They are fully accredited and licenced by Thyssen and honour all their guarantee commitments.

Cool. I will finalise the drawings and give them a bell and get a price. Probably way over my budget but if I don't ask the price then I won't know. Also get a price from a company here in Hua HIn. http://www.finestra.co.th I got UPVC in the UK and I like them after having wood windows all my life.

I got a feeling that I will be on the good grade white Aluminiuim that you installed Jazzman after receieving the prices so will soon be trawling the site to brush up on this type of window.

One good tip when designing windows is to take into account standard off-the-peg curtain and blind sizes. Getting them custom made later cost 5 times more. A mistake I made !

Standard sizes W x H:

    90 x 130
    90 x 160
    120 x 130
    120 x 160
    155 x 130
    155 x 160

Is this what you mean? http://wrvinyl.com/rollershutter.html This company is in Thailand.

There are several others, just google websites in thailand. If you are near Pattaya A.R.C. has them, but
their prices are also higher than anyone else.

Hi,

Can I know the price for a standard sliding window for View Talay 1 or ViewTalay 2 condo ?

And what company would you definitively advice near Pattaya Jomtien ?

Thanks for replies.

There are aluminum window makers all over Pattaya. I cannot recommend any one specific.

I do know there is a rather large company with big advert signs in front for doors and windows. The manager there speaks pretty good English. I talked with him about a project I was doing on my new house.

Location is on north Sukumvit just north of Pattaya Nua road intersection and almost directly opposite the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital on the east side of the street.

Thanks, and what about buying the PVC windows at Homepro or Boonthavorn, do they sell these windows ?

I also would like to find a sliding door for bathroom and a metallic door to install in front of apartment main entrance (security door).

Thanks.

If you go to that window shop talk to them about your needs.

Homeworks sells a line of PVC windows and doors and Homemart sell the Windsor line of PVC stuff.

Start getting out and beating the bushes and read more of the threads here. There is a ton of info in the various topics.

Actually I am still wondering, as it seems to just be a trend to use PVC windows, when aluminium (white aluminium!) also works well.

Why paying double price (at least) for a PVC window if the Aluminium window can do the job as well ?

Thanks.

Most people say for the insulating value and the security of the PVC locking system they will pay the extra money

If you keep the windows closed all the time and use aircon to cool a house the pvc windows with double glass is the way to go.

The pvc offers the multipoint lock systems that seem to be more robust than the cheap locks used on the aluminum windows.

For me the powder coated white aluminum in the 1.5mm extrusion with the 6mm green glass is good enough. We will add steel bars to make up for the poor locking windows. We keep many windows open around the clock and the bars provide the added level of security we feel comfortable with

Just an update, happy with WR Vinyl windows !

ps:
By the way, i'm wondering if anybody knows where to find a company that can come home to spray paint build in furnitures ?
I guess it should be spray paint and not jsut normal painting to look good, right ?
Thanks for all.

I posted a bit about P.V.C. windows a while back. I asked my window specialist (40 odd yrs installing every kind of windows up to Curtain walling on High Rise's) His answer was the steel inside rusted over time with condensation. May be the new types have no steel inside.? I looked at them for my house near Khon Kaen, but went for the high quality white powder coated Aluminium in the end.

Mike Judd,
There is no change in PVC windows, they still have steel in them that rusts.

Interesting, Roger. If the steel is completely embedded in the PVC, and the coreners are correctly PVC welded, how does it rust, and how do you know it's rusting?
FWIW, Atilla has high quality PVC doors and windows in his house for many years now, and he's never mentioned any problems to me - and I'm sure he would.
