password login

my computer is doing strange things every time i want to reply to a posting i have to login again so its dropping my login after a reply as its not done this before i wondered if something has been changed??? forum end or mine it does this even when i check the box saying remember my login

I just tried this, a logon was forced for a session that hadn't been active for a while. Then once I logged on I was able to reply without an additional logon. Nothing has been changed in the forum software. Can you retry it....... once you have just logged on then can you post a reply?

gidday dozer...i have just done a post no worries...but when u leave that and go some where else on the board you automatically log off..and have to re log in again maybe the gremlins are at work??? hope u understand me..thaifly

Mine is still playing up as well if you reply to something then read another post you cannot reply as you have logged out????

now have just done a post on old plans..and went to home page .and logged out automatically now have log in again to do this post has been happening the last day or so dozer. thai fly

I’m also having a problem with log-in. Set to auto log-in and if I change to a different thread am shown as a guest. Had to log in again just to post this so something is amiss.

Just to help dozer work : Since I logued in after registration few days ago.. I checked "auto login" and I didn't need to login anymore since few days...

So On my side the forum works very great and there is no problems at all.. cessions have no expiry time.

Maybe you guys should check cookies settings.... also I use Firefox Mozilla and no IE !!

I also tweaked a couple of settings so all can try again to make the sessions less restrictive.

still doing the same and apears to have a time on it left my pc logged in after 5 hours it had at some point logged me out i cannot see the point of altering settings at this end if nothing has changed i have not encountered this before

to reiterate if i reply to a post it will log me out after confirming message sent i then have to go to forum main page and start again on the postings if i reply further it will then log me out again ??? its never done this before???

what explorer do you use ? what OS do u use ? does it does that with other forum ? if Yes i'll suggest you to format and install OS properly again..

or clean you cookies ans sessions settings...

also use Firefox ^^ I 've not been kick out or loggued out since i loggued few days ago.. that Confirm the forum WORKS properly.. and the problem is on your side obviously ^^ dig more your configuration and what has changed on your computer... fresh installed new software ? upgrading OS recently.. there should be a reason why... but of course Computering is often Mystical ^^

That is strange as nothing in the phpbb installation has changed recently and it works OK from here, although I sometimes get logged out after several hours idle, in this case I just log on again. To Pai Fai's point, unfortunately it has a lot to do with the system on the receiving side (browser/cookies).

Yes, good idea. Here is what I would suggest:

1.) Install a few different browsers, firefox, google chrome, ie, opera. Try it under each environment.
2.) Clean cache in your system and cookies.
3.) Make sure you are configured to allow cookies.
