Earth Rod Protective cover Info.

Postby groucho » Thu Sep 05, 2013 9:33 pm

Hello,

I have a solid copper three meter 5/8 " earth rod ready for driving into the ground. I have been told that the copper rod cannot come in contact with concrete, as it has a corrosive effect on the copper. What is the proper way to cover the protruding rod end for inspection purposes.

Thanks-groucho

I left the clamp just above ground level, if there is a sidewalk drop a PVC pipe around it for protection.

Oh, it is also in a planted area just to make sure the soil doesn't dry out.
It's not who you know, it's whom you know.

I used a sprinkler valve inspection box, they have them at Globalhouse, or at least they did last time I visited. :D
