On the 15th we purchased 4 hun koh oiy dem (สี่หุนขออ้อย เด็ม) which is the also known as โรงเล็ก which was 165 per 10 meter length, in Pattaya.

The weight of each 10 meter piece is 7.6 KG. The engineering specification stamped on each length is SD-30.

To compare purchase price you must factor in the size, grade and also weight per 10 meter length. The weight is not printed on the receipt but they will tell you if you ask them. If each 10 meter piece for example was 8 KG, it would/should be more expensive by the corresponding percentage. (I know this is confusing since a width and rating should yield the same weight, but the sizes are not exact, therefore the various weights depending on factory, and the pricing difference).

31 Jan 2010 purchased 8.8 Kg (stronger) 4 hun, for Baht 210. In beams and colums you just need to use more if using the lighter/softer steel. swings and roundabouts really, and depends what the local supplier generally keeps in stock.

Depends where you are in the country.

Chaang Daeng, is around 130 B per 50 kg bag Chiang Dao (small northern community). In Chiang Mai (bigger city) its around 115 B. Theyre very pro Nok Insee here, for example Nok Insee Phet can be had for 110 B per 50 kg bag.

I'm not sure Beon, but I think you might have posted this in the wrong topic. It seems you are discussing 50 Kg bags of cement powder.
This thread is about the price of steel reinforcing bar (rebar).

Hi Jazzman,

The original question was: "Hi , I just paid 185tb for 4 hun per mtre , is this good bad or .... if bad ...what should I be paying ? also cement ( chaang) 120 per bag ? am I being ripped ....."

Since the rebar question was already taken care of, I thought I just give my experience on the cement part of the question.

Generally, the price of cement is fairly uniform throughout the country. Any differences are only about baht 5 per bag, and tha won't make much of difference on the price of a house.
